B.E.S.T Compliance Ltd was issued an instruction to undertake an investigation for a EPC upgrade on a commercial premises. 
 
We undertook a preliminary EPC and found that this Building as it stood came out as a Grade F. 
 
For the purpose of future activity this grade was unacceptable due to the incoming Minimum energy performance standards (MEPS). 
 
The client didn't’t and couldn’t afford for works to be carried out when the building was being rented out as any upgrades would affect the operation of the building and would have more of a financial consequence to the landlord. 
 
As you can see from the energy usage for the building, lighting accounted for 62% of the total consumption. The major drawback to the lighting was that Tungsten lighting was used throughout with a few T12 and T8 Lights. 
 
BEST established and addressed this problem immediately using our specialist lighting knowledge accompanied with our Expert EPC knowledge we knew the most cost efficient solution to gain the required goal. 
New building specific LED lighting was fitted throughout the building for a low cost and the EPC grade was then upgraded when all was fitted to a Grade C.

BEST undertook a Commercial EPC for the landlord on this office in Central Birmingham. 
 
The Office already utilised a Split system for cooling and Heating, a Stand Alone Water heater for hot water and the lighting consisted of T8 tubed lights and 2D Bulkhead lights. 
 
The Original EPC came out as a D grade, the conversation was then had leaded by the Land Lord " How do I get an B Grade". BEST than investigated.

The retail unit was mainly fitted with Compact Fluorescent Lighting with a few Tube fittings, the heating and cooling was served by a LG Split System and hot water was provided an Instantaeous hot water heater.
